Appraiser Profile

A life-long Californian, Mrs. Phillips received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.  As a designated member since 1982, she holds the SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute, a global appraisal organization. She is also licensed by the State of California as a Certified Residential Appraiser.

Ms. Phillips has held numerous elected and appointed positions within the Appraisal Institute and its predecessor organization, the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. National level positions held include the Board of Directors of both organizations, Vice Chairman of the Residential Appraiser Board, Assistant Chief Examiner - Appraisal Reports, Vice Chairman of Candidate Guidance. She has also served as a Regional Committee member, and has held leadership positions at the chapter level.

As a Pebble Beach resident, service on various Del Monte Forest boards has provided her with unique experience as an appraiser. Such community endeavors include service on the Del Monte Forest Architectural Review Board, ten years on the Land Use Advisory Committee to Monterey County for the Del Monte Forest, the Open Space Advisory Committee and the Del Monte Forest Property Owners board.

Family and Interests

Nancy lives in Pebble Beach with her husband Bill Phillips, a real estate broker and principal of Phillips Real Estate in Monterey.  Bill is also owner of Terra Vista Home Owner Association Management.  Bill and Nancy have two children, Andrew and Katie.  Andrew has joined Phillips Real Estate as a third generation realtor in the family business.  Katie is a political consultant in Washington D.C.

Nancy is a life-long equestrian, a beekeeper, golfer and year-round tennis player.  Dedicated to health and fitness, she is a certified personal trainer (CPT) with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  She volunteers with Nancy's project, a non-profit that distributes food to needy farm worker families in Monterey County.  Nancy feels fortunate to have raised a family on the Monterey Peninsula while being fully engaged in an interesting and rewarding profession.
